Ship Tavern.-On the north side of Threadneedle Street, in Broad Street Ward (Rocque, 1746).
First mention: Messuage called "le Shippe" in parish of St. Christopher near le Shambles " called "le Stockes," 40 Eliz. 1598 (Lond. I. p.m. III. p.257).
Site now occupied by the Bank of England.
Ship Tavern.-On the east side of Water Lane. A passage at the upper end of Custom House Court leads through the Ship Tavern into Water Lane (Strype, ed. 1720, I. ii. 53)
